Is your child looking to enhance their social skills, build friendships, and gain confidence in social settings? Our fall social skills group is the perfect opportunity!

The group will cover many social skills topics appropriate for female, male, and non-binary students. We will incorporate games, role plays, and other fun activities to help your child practice a range of skills: listening and reciprocal conversation skills, perspective-taking and showing empathy, self-advocacy, conflict resolution, identifying feelings, managing strong emotions, and more.

  • Hone attentive listening skills and develop an improved understanding of conversational turn-taking

  • Improve the ability to ask open-ended questions and sustain a conversation with peers

  • Learn how to challenge our automatic negative thoughts and develop a better understanding of our feelings

  • Learn strategies for coping with strong emotions in healthy, effective ways

  • Build confidence in expressing our needs, opinions, and boundaries in a respectful manner

  • Acquire techniques to peacefully resolve conflicts (including active listening, compromise, and negotiation skills)

  • Learn to set and achieve realistic goals for the future
